Detroit isn’t as awful as before but faces a more difficult task in taking on Griffin Canning. He needs to avoid loud hits as much as possible but still boasts a 24.8% strikeout to 7.5% walk rate. Canning has been solid and now takes on a Detroit team looking for their third straight win.
The top of the Angels’ order will always present an issue with Shohei Ohtani looming, but Eduardo Rodriguez should be up for the challenge. The Tigers starter enters tonight with a 26.8% strikeout rate alongside a .289 xwOBA and 87.6 EV. He is pitching to and doing it well enough to outlast the Angels in the first inning, making this our top NRFI bet for today.
