Sometimes the best anytime touchdown scorer bets are the most obvious. That’s what we’ve got here in Sunday’s battle between the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills. It’s the first game for Josh Allen after the Stefon Diggs trade.
Although I’m plenty excited about Buffalo’s new receiving corps, I’m not as excited about their prospects close to the goal line. Instead, that’s where quarterback Josh Allen should thrive.
Last year, Allen racked up 35 carries inside the 20-yard line, 15 of which went for scores. This sample includes 14 carries (and 8 conversions) inside the five-yard line.
Allen ranked seventh among all players in carries inside the five last year. He trailed only one other quarterback, Jalen Hurts. He is trading at odds of -165 or shorter at most books, but we can find a friendly -120 at DraftKings.

Aaron Jones didn’t shy away from self-promotion this offseason. He implored fantasy football owners to draft him to their teams. “I tell them all, like, ‘Hey, if I let you down last year, sorry. But this year we’re going to win it all if you got me,’” the 29-year-old running back said. He also added, “Make sure you’ve got me in your leagues.”
While his bravado doesn’t guarantee a touchdown will occur, it’s encouraging to see the veteran running back exude confidence. He’s going to need it with Darnold as his quarterback.
Sure, the Vikings still have solid receiving weapons in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, but how reliable will Darnold be in efficiently targeting them in the red zone? That remains to be seen. We should be able to trust Darnold to cleanly hand the ball off to Jones, though, and then he’ll take care of the rest.
Jones should have ample opportunity to capitalize against a weak Giants run defense. Last season, the G-Men finished 30th in defensive rush success rate, allowing 4.7 yards per carry and 1.4 rushing touchdowns per game. The price for Jones to score a touchdown in this game is plus money, and I’m looking to take advantage of it.
