Lamar Jackson M/L Than 49.5 Rushing Yards
There are plenty who believe the Baltimore Ravens are due a bounce back following their near victory in Kansas City. I am not one of them. The Ravens are plagued with offensive line issues from player to coach. The team faces an easier task with the Raiders in town, especially with Vegas dealing with injuries on the defensive front.
The fact is most teams should be able to devise a plan to not only pressure Lamar Jackson on dropbacks but also limit runners like Derrick Henry. It’s just not something the team will figure out overnight, and I’m willing to play Jackson’s rush total up to 54.5 yards. He had eight attempts at the half last week as the Ravens are seeing designed plays immediately break down — putting Jackson in run mode.
The Raiders still have to game plan around Henry despite him not being the same king of years prior. There’s a threat at least on the ground that Baltimore is intent on establishing. The issue will be how fast Jackson and the offense abort those runs for quick throw and deeper routes, depending on if they trail. That is absolutely possible, by the way, as the Ravens haven’t figured out protection nor rush lanes, at least not from last week.
I expect Jackson to be running on a handful of designed plays, a few quick reads then tuck plays and simply running for his life. That will lead to another big day on the ground for the former MVP.

Deshaun Watson M/L 24.5 Rushing Yards
Beyond any off-field issues that continue to hover over Deshaun Watson is a concentrated gameplan this week to avoid one thing: Throwing 45 times. Watson’s rushing yards in the season opener were a direct result of him dropping back and throwing an absurd number of times. The Browns were cooked, so was Watson, and the team was throwing out of desperation. It looked like a squad incapable of doing much, and anything positive would just be leading to the inevitable implosion.
That is kind of like their opponent this week in Jacksonville. Watson and the Browns shouldn’t be throwing anywhere near this much, with protection breakdowns forcing the escape. Even without Nick Chubb, the Browns need to establish a stronger presence on the ground. They can do that by executing two things: Not being down by 40 points at the half and not running the quarterback. If Watson and the Browns are going to have any hope this year, it will come from a more balanced approach, at least compared to last week.
