2023 National League Rookie of the Year Odds: Corbin Carroll Out in Front

The Diamondbacks struggled last year, but have a lot to look forward to with Carroll entering the picture. He is currently the #1 prospect in the National League according to American League ROTY favorite Gunnar Henderson for the top overall spot in Major League Baseball.
Carroll received a late season call up in 2022, playing in 32 games with Arizona. He hit .260, with 4 HRs, 14 RBI and two stolen bases. Because Carroll only reached 104 ABs, he maintained rookie status and is still eligible for the Rookie of the Year award.
His success a season ago, strong minor league numbers and high prospect profile has Carroll leading the pack as a +380 favorite to take home the National League Rookie of the Year award. He is followed by Miguel Vargas (+550) of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ezequiel Tovar (+650) of the Colorado Rockies, Kodai Senga of the New York Mets (+700), Jordan Walker (+750) of the St. Louis Cardinals and Matt Mervis of the Chicago Cubs (+1200).
Walker, who is just 20 years old ranks as the #4 prospect in all of baseball according to MLB.com. Vargas and Tovar are both in the top-50. Only the Cubs’ Mervis and Kodai Senga are not on the list. Mervis is 24-years old and has come on later in his career.
Senga is another story. At 30-years old he is the oldest contenders for National League Rookie of the Year. On the other hand, he will be the highest paid rookie, and the only one with a guaranteed roster spot to start the season. The Mets signed Senga out of Japan to a 5-year, $75 million contract this offseason.
